About Katie Sanders Dietitian
I take a calm, evidence-based approach to gut health and nutrition, grounded in both clinical experience and current research.
I work with people who have ongoing digestive symptoms and are often feeling worried, frustrated, or overwhelmed. Many have tried multiple diets or been given conflicting advice. My role is to help bring clarity, reassurance, and balance.
My approach
-
Evidence led care
All advice is based on reputable guidelines and clinical evidence, not trends or fads. -
Balance, not unnecessary restriction
I don’t believe in unnecessary elimination or extreme dietary rules. Nutrition should support your life — not take it over. -
The whole picture matters
Gut symptoms are influenced by more than food alone. Stress, sleep, routine, movement, and the gut–brain connection are always considered. -
Personalised care
There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Support is tailored to your symptoms, preferences, and lifestyle. -
Calm, compassionate support
Digestive symptoms are real and valid, even when tests are normal. Fear and uncertainty can make symptoms worse, so reassurance and understanding are an important part of care.

FAQ
What happens in a consultation?
Appointments focus on understanding your symptoms, medical history, and concerns. Advice is personalised, evidence-based, and designed to be realistic and sustainable.
Do I need a diagnosis before booking?
No — many people seek support for symptoms or food-related concerns without a formal diagnosis. We can work with your experiences and any medical information you have. If, following your appointment, I feel further medical assessment or investigation may be helpful, I can — with your permission — write to your GP or relevant healthcare provider.
Will I be given a very restrictive diet?
Not typically. My approach prioritises balance and practicality, aiming to minimise unnecessary restriction while identifying strategies that genuinely help your symptoms. Any advice is personalised and designed to fit around your usual routines, work, and family commitments.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people benefit from just one or two appointments for clarity and direction, while others prefer ongoing support. Recommendations are always guided by your symptoms, goals, and preferences — there is no fixed programme.
What if I’ve already tried multiple diets or approaches?
This is very common. Many people I see have experimented with different dietary strategies or have previously consulted multiple healthcare providers without finding clear or lasting improvement. Consultations focus on making sense of your experiences, identifying patterns, and developing a more structured and sustainable approach tailored to you.
What if my symptoms feel complex or difficult to explain?
This is extremely common in digestive health. Many symptoms fluctuate, overlap, or do not follow clear patterns. Consultations are designed to explore your experiences in detail, identify potential contributing factors, and build a structured understanding of what may be happening rather than relying on assumptions or generic advice.
